Before you rank it
- The state-quota seat needs Karnataka domicile — the certificate format the state accepts. Check yours in the eligibility checker.
- Category certificates differ by route: central OBC-NCL format for MCC's AIQ, the state's own format for state counselling. One certificate rarely serves both.
- This seat can carry a service bond — read it as part of the price, not fine print.

- Faculty presence — vacancies in key departments show up in NMC inspection reports and in seniors' complaints long before rankings move.
