Tamil Nadu's Post-Matric scholarship (SC/ST/OBC) covers tuition for eligible incomes — at a private college it offsets a slice of a larger fee. Central Sector adds ₹12,000 a year for board toppers in the income band.

Recognised means graduates need no extra clearance to register with a state medical council.

• ?Hostel reality — rooms per student, mess quality, and whether first-years actually get a seat or hunt for PGs.
• ?Patient load — clinical exposure is the education. A packed OPD teaches more than a famous name with an empty ward.
• ✓Internship stipend — disclosed to NMC: ₹13,500/month — below the state column's ₹25,600 (NMC disclosure, Dec 2025–Jan 2026 — internet-sourced, verify). Still ask whether it lands on time.
• ?Faculty presence — vacancies in key departments show up in NMC inspection reports and in seniors' complaints long before rankings move.
